Before we get this started let's define this bet, If I lift it and get it road worthy than you gotta cross the mountain and visit your inlaws. Then you gotta come to my house and drive the eagle on a wheeling trip that I can take lots of pics of you wheelin and post them up on CF. If I loose and can't make everything work, then I either cross the mountain and wheel with you guy's or video the eagle being crushed by a large track vehicle. Your choice. Are you willing to accept these conditions?

My buddy use to have an AMC eagle wagon and man we took that sucker every where...It played the role of a submarine and mud machine..lol Thing was tough and could handle almost anything we errm threw it in ..

With enough time and WILL anything can be lifted.
Trick is to keep it from looking like a group of your friends partook of a keg and got a brainstorm to lift it...
Roadworthy is easy...legal takes a fine touch.
First: Read-up about what others have done (I'm sure others have done this)
See what worked/didn't work for them.
Second: Study the original suspension and see if it can be used or what could be used for the design you want.
These AMC's were pretty tough vehicles. Probably would not take too much, depending on how high you wanna go.

Found out today it's about a 6 hour trip from here. I guess 6 hrs. dragged behind a Pinto would be better than 60 min. in one and a whole lot safer.Haha just giving you a hard time Alien. Of course I did have a Pinto once, 72 model that i paid 20 dollars for drove for 2 years and sold for 150 dollars. Guy cut it up and used parts for a race car that him and his son had.

No need for putting a car like the Eagle on a donor frame. It might be unibody, but it has "framerails" just like our Cherokees. Actually probably a little bit better. The front frame horns under the engine bay are plated with 3/16'' plate all the way down. It won't take too much to fab up a long arm kit with a cherokee front end under it, the worst part will be relocating the steering sector forward.

only a true jeeper would flex a car.
dont worry, i flexed my old car (96 sebring) and it had little to none. learned at the same time that the coolant resevoir overflow is pretty sensitive..
