Default How bad is this rust?

Im looking to refresh a 1966 Dodge Dart that belonged to my wife's great-grandmother. I'm not worried too much about mechanical stuff, but some of the bodywork has got me weary. I was able to knock pretty hard on the panels and they didn't crumble and felt pretty sturdy.

So I'm hoping through some of these photos I can get some input. Thanks guys.

This photo is inside the trunk

This one is the outside of the above photo

And this one is another spot I'm worried about

Hard to say under all that bondo, but I have seen worse beautifully restored. All it takes is time and money.

First pic, cut and patch. Second pic, nothing jumps out at me. Third pic, blast it and see how bad it is. You are sure to find more behind the paint and bondo. Thats way too much bondo btw. Its for filling minor imperfections, not sculpting. You can buy patch panels for that for as little as $100, but they dont go above that chrome strip. A quick Google shows a full 1/4 to be $500 or so. Look it over top to bottom, stem to stern. Look behind everything, too.

Used to be a red one roaming around town for a short while years ago. Definitely a unique looking vehicle.

Heres a little reading for you. https://www.allpar.com/cars/dodge/da...ers-guide.html

Thanks for the link I’ll definitely be diving further into that when I get a chance.
We aren’t sure why there is bondo on it as to the best of anyone’s (currently living) knowledge it was never hit or wrecked, and we will be the second/third (title transferred to her grandfather after great-grandma passed) owners if we decide to continue with the project.
My wife did a bit of research and found some of the smaller pieces of the quarter panel and fender well but not the whole piece.
Im looking forward to working on this and hoping I won’t have my hands to full for a first time project.
