Gremlin gremlins
At some point in the near future, my friend will be giving me the MPI 4.0 out of his 92 xj to put in my gremlin. I know I can use the water pump and timing cover from the 232 on the 4.0, but does anybody know if the alternator and power steering brackets from my 232 will swap over onto the 4.0? Alternator is a motorolla adapted to work with my car ( 73 Gremlin, 232) on the lower driver's side of the motor. Power steering is a saginaw on the passenger side.I want to try to retain all of the old brackets for the simplified look. I won't be running AC.
On a side note, does anybody know what the bell housing depth is for an 85 cj7 4 cylinder? Using it to mount the 4.0 to my Borg Warner sr4 and want to know if i should use my old clutch or if i should use the 4cyl cj clutch. I'll be keeping the 232 crank and flywheel for use in the 4.0.
