what kind of car is it? I wish my bf would buy me a car, I've bought all of my own vehicles and personalized them the way I like them myself, usually accenting them with a specific, coordinating color. For instance, I like purple, so I added purple racing stripes and other accents to my Cobalt.... and the Jeep.

 

What do girls do to make their cars cool? Paint it pink spray some nasty perfume and call it a day

Throw in a new head unit, install some white LED DRLs, put in some purple footwell lighting, and you're good!

Shouldn't cost you anything over $300 either.

My gf drives a lifted 4runner limited on 33in nittos, with brushguard, piaa lights, indash tv w/system, blacked out windows, exhaust(v8) etc... its awesome!!

 

Choose her favorite color and start with that...does she like lifted trucks/jeeps? Or is she more into the small sporty cars?

Do you have the ability to paint/customize the vehicle? If so, then it really doesn't matter. Just make sure you have some kind of plan in your head to run by her and see if she likes it before you start doing it.

I bought myself a winter beater, and its now OUR trail rig. Painted orange to my liking, tires I picked out, and the headliner was customized by me

Will she be paying for gas, insurance, and all car repairs that are needed? If so,.. I would say something good on gas, cheap to insure, and easy/cheap to maintain, reliable, and overall a good decent car. Sunroof would be a plus!
