Default (Gasp!!!) A hummer!

Hey guys. Before you string me up and burn me for my other ride I am buying an xj. 1997 with 100k miles 6" lift on 33"s with a new 4.0 installed. My other ride is this 2007 hummer h3 lux/adventure (rear locker). I've owned it since 2011 and bought it bone stock. I have since added 315 Goodyear duratracs, gobi stealth rack with ladder and hi-lift mount,n-fab steps,k&n intake, magnaflow exhaust,ARB bumper with WARN m8000,6000k hids, tinted windows, tail light guards, and upgraded all of the shocks when I leveled the front. I know it will be hated on here by some, but its no street queen so don't treat her like one right? Tell me what you guys think. Ill snap more pics later this is just what I had available. The fairing is off in these pics but its back on now.

as long as you realize its not a real humvee im ok with it. I think it looks cool. Does it ever go offroad? I hate the ppl that are like, "I have a hummer, best off road vehicle ever..." No, its a hummer-esk body on a Tahoe chasis.

Oh yeah I know it's just a Colorado motor and frame with a brick body but it does have potential. Is it legendary like a humvee? Heck no but it's no Chevy blazer either. It has done the beach for now. Can't find a good spot near by or time with my busy schedule at work. Anyone wants to hit some trails with my xj or h3 let me know. I'm near Fayetteville nc.

I dig it. That's how they should come from the factory. I hate all that chrome accent crap.

Good job on it

Getting the xj as soon as I finish paying the man. Known him for years. He has his own garage and has been buying/fixing/selling xjs for about 18 years. He has an xj graveyard behind his house...100+ of them. He bought this one with a rod blown through the oil pan and put a newer one in it and cleaned it up for me for 2800$. Runs and drives like a champ. Going to wrap it or paint it because its black and the paint is kinda bad. Bought it because its relatively cheaper to fix vs the h3. Planned on trading my 3 on a 4door jk but the man I bought it from was a very close member of the family and he was killed by an illegal immigrant in a car accident this year so I've decided to keep it for a while and work on it in his memory. He always wanted to work on it but never had time to drive it so he sold it. He always told me he hated that he sold it but loved what I was doing with it. I'm a deputy sheriff and I was the one who responded to the wreck not knowing who was involved. Ill eventually get a jk I think. A rubi (fingers crossed)

The ARB really helps out the front end of that rig. Looks like a nice rig!

We all don't have boiling hatred for the GM Hummers:

Sometimes they have to pull your new 12k mile Jeep home for 14 hours after the previous owner blew the motor. This was December of 03 after making it through a Michigan blizzard.

I drove a 2 one day. Thought I wanted one before the. Just way to big. That 6.0 is a turd in that behemoth.

Well i noticed what beach you were on (got the same sticker).
I wish i knew a guy with a xj graveyard, that can come in handy.
Sorry about your friend, that must have been a very hard call to respond to.

I've never driven a civilian hummer, but I'd take my XJ over a HMMWV any day.

I thought they have IFS from the factory?

Or are you suggesting a SA swap?
