Yeah, I think after having seen a few frames under them that have been exposed and never washed, Elmer's glue might be giving it more credit than they deserve. Floor boards are another good area to find rust. My grandfather's had, as he put it, "...A/C, I just move my foot from on top of the hole in the floorboard and wa-la an extra air vent." After driving a car for 20 years, little things like that seem to matter a bit less.

Although, compared to the brake lights, that was nothing. He had a wiring issue somewhere between the brake light switch under the dash and the brake lights themselves, so he installed a button from radio shack that he had to push to turn the brake lights on with. The funniest part was for two years after he parked the car, he'd still reach up to the dashboard for the switch while braking.
