Well Im currently working on it. The car started out as a 2.8V6 and I swapped it out for a 3.4V6. I also got gfx and rear bumper from a trans am from the junkyard. I think ima stick with the camaro front, its growing on me now. LOL. BTW if anyone is wondering the black paintjob was actually a rollon paintjob. Right now its currently sitting in the garage needing a bit of bodywork done to it.

We've had alot of Camaros pass through our family over the years:

Dad: 1967 RS/SS Camaro
Brother: 1968 Camaro...1977 Camaro...1975 Camaro...1986 Camaro
Me: 1980 Camaro Z/28...1985 Camaro...1984 Firebird

wish I had pics, but somewhere along my dating career someone got pissed and destroyed my history.

Shows how high quality these motors are right??? lmao but i have to get moving soon im moving out of Michigan in 43 days and dont want to rely on a trailer the whole way back incase somehting happens to my ZJ. but ive owned SEVERAL camaros. one witha a 383 the went low 10s mid 9s if i could hook on a spray.. an AutoX/drift car.... mainly a mild 383 with a nice suspension setup, nothing crazy all bolt on ****. working on my first 3rd gen, and had 2 v6 autos and a few stock LTs

i had a stock headed 305 originally in my car that had some grunt, ran 14.30s@97mph with a really ****ty 60ft. my car was auto at the time and had the stock stall of 1200rpms in it. with a 3000stall and a 100shot that car would have ran mid 12s. dont knock 305s.there is some out there that can be made faster with a cam and heads. trick flow makes heads for them that are worth a damn. they make a 335 stroker kit also. cool stuff

after this one i will never EVER own another 305 and expect any torgue or HP from it... the money you would need to put into a 305 to make it run mid 12s WHICH is ALOT you could put half that into a 350 and make the same passes. in my 383 that ran 11.30 motor alone i had less then 3k alone and less then 4 in the entire car building it to run that consistanly and be a reliable daily driver..... understandably they are 2 completely different motors but to make a 305 run mid 12s and be reliable will take A LOT. and thats to keep it a 305.... once you bore and stroke it well then its not a 305 anymore is it?

All i needed was a stall and a 100 shot. Not much spent. A 305 can take that pass after pass and be driven home. Youre expecting way too much out of a 170 hp motor.

I also wanna add in my car had a stock suspension with cooper cobra tires. Still did a 14.3@97mph with a 2.35 60ft. That is damn near a 13.99 with traction with a 305. 12s arent that far off with nitrous

My brother has a '67 he bought new the first week they came out. Now the Firebird sits under a cover in his garage. He drives it about once a month on Sundays.

I have been trying for the last 20 years to get him to sell it to me. But, like his surfboard, it is a no-go on him ever selling it. He says he will put in his Will that I get the Firebird.

I have (2) '68 Camaros. Despise them with all my might and trying to sell.
Had a S&B '77 T/A with an earlier model Super Duty. Loved that car.
Had a '68 Ram Air Firebird Conv. Loved that car until I fell thru the floorpan.
Have had an additional '67 Firebird 326 Coupe, a '67 Firebird Sprint OHC 6 (what a sweetheart), an '84 Z28, and a '92 Formula. Pretty much would choose a Pontiac over a Chevrolet, even though I've had nice examples of both.

how am i expecting to much from the motor? i dont want anything out of it. i mean my v6 94 was faster then my 305 with full exhaust and MSD ign.... its a proven fact that 305s are the red headed step child's of Chevy SBC
