made some more progress on the vette. got the converter and trans bolted up to the engine and set everything in the car. it was pretty late so i called it a day. spent some time modifying the hvac box. next is making an ac delete panel and seeing if the torque arm is going to work without modification.

Looks like you are using a Camaro oil pan on that thing. Does it fit ok? They tend to hang low in Vettes from my experiences. Me personally, I like the C5 batwing pans. They seem to fit and control the oil better. Just my opinion though.

BTW - Back in 2003 when I was a youngin of 17 or so, I did my first LS swap in my 70 Camaro. Since then, LS swapping is the world I have lived in. So if you need any parts or advice, feel free to ask. I dont mind hooking up fellow Jeep members.

yes, fbody pan. i wanted to use a c5 pan but i could not find one reasonably priced. it doesn't hang low enough to worry about. ive had a hand in a few lsx swaps myself personally...3 third gen f cars, 72 el camino, foxbody mustang and several others i have simply lent help. extreme s10 is next on the hit list.

i appreciate the offer, ill keep it in mind if i get in a pickle.

the ls3 accessories will be here thursday so hopefully ill have time to get them on this weekend and see what the torque arm likes. then it'll be easy street. i have too many projects, i just want this thing to move under its own power so i can free up the bay.

Ya I know what you mean. The C5 pans are stupid money. Glad to see you have done a few swaps before. Always helps out! Post up some more pictures once you drop it in!

I am assuming the LS3 accessory kit you are using is from a Vette. If for some reason it doesnt work out (which they should), my company makes different brackets for it. They would allow you to run the Vette offset in the f-body locations. Just throwing that out there! Like I said, any little odd ball thing you run in to (adapters, straight thermostat housings, or just random billet stuff), let me know and I am pretty sure I have a fix for you.

yes, ls3 vette, we had a balancer laying around already. i bit the bullet and bought the kit from gm that includes everything but the balancer and water pump. we frankensteined the other accessory drives and i found it to be a pita. we've got truck and fbody parts for days, very few vette parts. this car was the tightest on clearance in all regards so far...and it's mine, i didn't want to hodgepodge. it can be done a lot cheaper than what i did, but at the cost of labor and time. it's cool stuff though. we've got a few other chassis waiting, like a 72 datsun 240. it's already got a 9", coil overs, a cage, and solid mounts. just no time. we all work full time jobs and do what we can with cars in our diminishing free time. general life stuff gets in the way far too much
