2001 wrangler
just bought a 2001 jeep wrangler sport 4.0 l and when started cold has wierd "knocking" sound. when engine warms up or car is driven around till warmed up the sound dissapears and the car sounds normal. the car is under warranty i just want to know what the sound may be. the owner and tech said 4.0 l exhaust just sounds like that sometimes? please help

Guys enough. Yes its a cherokee forum but that dosent mean we cant help out a fellow jeeper.
Do you hear the knocking noise from the top or bottom end of the engine when its running and how is your oil pressure/oil level?
