So my landlord has been trying to sell this S10 for awhile now.
The longer it hangs out the more I stare at it and wonder if I should make an offer.
He just tells people it needs an engine. 2.2 by the way.
I heard it running shortly before he stopped driving it and it sounded like crap.
I almost wonder if the timing jumped. And if it did what did it do to the head.
Anybody know anything about these things?
Been Googling around but I have no idea what might actually be wrong with the engine.
Have read that putting a six in is somewhat common but not really trying to do that.
He is asking $700 but almost wondering if it is worth a couple/three hundred to find out.
I don't think it is in really bad shape. I can't be sure but think it has about 165K on it.

Think you can get the head off without messing with the AC?


Thinking the bumper can be tightened up a bit.


Thinking might be able to get behind this dent and roll it out a bit. Make it not so noticable.


Not the cab corner that is rotted through but a little higher. Almost thinking glue a piece of metal somewhat formed,
little body work, and bed line the bottom. Also cause while not rotted the paint on the rocker.



Bed itself is in pretty good shape. Along with the interior.


Tailgate is shot but apparently you can buy a new shell cheap. I am sure it is some Chinese steel but....
Also figure bed line that and the bed.

He had the bumper welded on. Would just leave that alone.
He is the type to neglect vehicles. I mean bad.
And I need a second vehicle like I need a hole in my head.
Then I would have 2 vehicles I barely drive. LOL.

I just keep on staring at it though.
What do you guys think?
