I have a Jeep Cherokee Country 4.0 that will start and idle for about 30 seconds before it floods itself. Codes are all over the place.. My question is could this be caused by a faulty ecm?

 

Your thread caught me eye due to the "starts then dies". If you read my thread I also describe a related problem although in my case it doesn't stall till shifting the transmission. Plus, I never get any codes. I was told years ago by my former garage owner that the engines in these mid-90s models were practically bullet proof and very dependable. Indeed, we've gotten great service out of our '97 but the problems I've been experiencing the past 2 years are frustrating. Hope you get some answers!
