New to the Jeep world. I was wondering if anyone could tell me why the XJ parts are listed when I put in Sport when searching for parts. Are they the same “body style”?
I need to replace the bumper on my 1994 Cherokee Sport and I need to know if they can be interchanged. I called and asked the help assistant at one supplier and he told me to ask the guys on a Jeep forum so here l am. LostJeep.

 

Most if not all Jeeps have 2 letter designations.
All Cherokees are XJ's. '84 to '01.
Grand Cherokees '98 and down are ZJ's.
Grand Cherokees '99 to '04 are WJ's.
Etc.
Sport would be a trim package.
Depending on the year there are different ones.
Well your case the assuming you are talking about a factory bumper you care about XJ's and the year.
Now I am just guessing here but thinking any '96 and down from any trim package will work.
'97 to '01 are different in the way the look and I believe mount somewhat different.
