Question Is this 1953 ****** M38A1 Worth It?

I have an opportunity to purchase a 1953 ****** M38A1 from a farm out in delaware. I really want something to work on over the summer and Ive always wanted a olde style Jeep.

But some people are telling me that I shouldn't go for it, because its rust and it looks like a farm vehicle. On the other hand it looks pretty cheap compared to other restoration projects as well as the dirt cheap parts.

The person wants 1800$ for it but I think I can haggle it down to 1500$ because of the rust and the not pictured 5 inch hole in the floor.

If the pictures dont come up with it now I will post them later.

But is this project worth it, I dont want a purely off road jeep but a an original.
Also I dig the yellow paint.......

Sounds like the price is pretty high for the description.

Check out www.g503.com

Parts are not cheap for this Jeep.

Walcks4wd.com probably has parts. We have a '52 CJ3a and they've had everything we've ever needed.

I have a 52, did a v8 swap on mine, 350 just had to change the bell housing and the tranny bolted right up. Its fun, i havew 36's on there now, just dont expect a lot of performance out of them.

That price is kinda high, you can get them aqround here running for around 500-1000 most times. There super easy to work on, just dump the original 4 cyl.
