hey guys, i gots a 06 chevy cobalt, the auto lock button doesnt work on the driver side, works on the passenger side. key fob works. and my issue is it automatically and randomly locks and unlcoks itself at random times. sometimes ill be driving and it will just start locking, locking, locking, unlock, unlock, lock. random like that? i have no idea where to even begin. i know GM uses that lockout feature to prevent you from locking the doors while the key is in the ignition but it still does? any help would be great. thanks!

 

Just trade it in. My buddy has one and what a pile. Under 40,000 mi and on his 5th clutch! Besides that it has been in the shop more than it has been in his own hands.

 

dirty switch or bad sensor in the shifter assembly would be my guess

I have a love/hate relationship with my '07 coupe, LOL
