Well, when it rains it pours... literally it seems...
I just replace the waterpump and t-stat in my XJ, got everything working good, and when I drove my wifes Suburban last Sunday to take the family to church, I notice the temp getting very warm and then it spiked to red line just as we pulled into the parking lot of the church. Got out and could smell coolant very strong. Went on in to church since I couldnt do anything about it right then anyway. Came back out and checked the coolant level and it was non-existent. Got some coolant into it and it was coming out of the waterpump at a pretty steady drip. Weep hole is drooling. Bad waterpump. Obviously. My question is.... Has anyone had dealings with replacing one on a 04 Sub? I have found pretty good deals on new ones on line, so I am wanting to take care of it myself. How difficult was it? I am pretty handy with my tools, so I am not worried about not being able to do it, but I just would like to be warned about any pitfalls before hand. Thanks in advance for the help guys... Happy wheeling!!!
