xj stock front bumper trim and mod
 

I was looking at 4x4 bumpers online for my XJ and decided I didn't really like the look of them, not to mention the price. Over 400 bucks for 5 foot of steel. That's messed up! Even including fab.

So here's my project


1: removed stock bumper plastics. (no need to remove whole bumper) There's 8 bolts holding the bumper caps on and 3 pain in the butt rivets holding on the center strip of plastic, I just cut that plastic out instead of trying to pull the rivets.
2:I taped off the angles I wanted the bumper caps to be, then using my awesome homemade heat-knife (BIC lighter-Utility blade), I cut the plastic. This was all way easier then I thought it was going to be.
3: Sand down the edges
4: Bolt back on


After all this I want to put tow hooks through the front and rear stock bumpers.
