ZJ power seat
I am trying to remove the passenger power seat in a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. Unbolted no problem. I can't figure out how to seperate the power plug. it is a large black plug with a small red clip in the front. I was able to plull the red clip out but the plug won't seperate. help!

I finally got it apart. Now the seats are out, the air conditioner lines are off and it is now time to attack the dash for the famous evaporator replacement.

4 hours to get the dash out and the Heat exchanger and the Evaporator out. This job is very tough. I would put it right up there with swapping out a set of cylinder heads. I'll post when i am done and we shall see how long it has taken. I am also going to fix the VIC for the Coolant Sensor warning and also replace the heaters in my seats while they are out.
One more bit of news. My ZJ has auto temp control. I ordered a new evaporator based on ATC. Guess what it doesn't fit! The cases are different. The part that arrived looks like what should go in a ATC equipped car but when I took my case apart I had a standard evaporator! There are two risers in the case that are out on the ends that stop the coolant lines from coming out at the ends. I went and looked at a non ATC equipped evaporator core online and guess what? The lines exit from the middle of the core! OH well, typical Chrysler product. Out with the Dremmel tool and JB Weld. If I was anyone out there I would take everything apart and then go buy the proper parts based on what you have in your hand.

It's like what ever was in the production line got bolted on if it fit. I Know I have ATC as I can just set the temperature and forget it. I went to RockAuto.com as they show photos of the parts you are buying and the ATC evaporator looks nothing like what I have. The Non ATC matches perfectly. Trouble is the entire housing is different that holds the evaporator and heater core. The heater core interchanges but the Evaporator doesn't. Frigging 8 hour job is becoming a 12 hour job.
