Default ZJ 2" or 3" lift?

Ok so i am currently running a 2" bb on my zj...the spacers i got where some cheepo part store "Spring Boosters" and are falling apart, so i need to get a new good set of spacers...with the 2" bb nothing needs replaced...but how bout if i go up to the 3" spacers? will it still work with just spacers? or what else would i HAVE to get to make it work? Im on a low budget at the moment so i dont wanna hear just do it the right way and get a full kit...i will get a full kit but im gonna save for a full 4"+ kit...just want the cheapest/most lift i can get on at the moment so she's not sitting stock...thanks.

I honestly think I would go with another set of 2 in spacers. 3 might be nice, but the more you go up on stock suspension parts, the less flex you have.

look into the front to rear spring swap.
we went one step further and used a set of v8 front coils for the rear, then used an old set of RE 4.5 coils for the front.

if you don't already, you will need a new set of shocks for any added height. and ditch the rear sway bar.

Ya I thought about that...but I just bought new shocks so I gotta stay low enough so they'll fit...after I buy my wheels and tires I'll probably do the front to rear swap...how much lift does the front springs add when u put them in the rear?

with the v8 springs, you get between 3.5 and 4 inches.
but for some reason, the XJ rubicon express 4.5 inch coils up front just leveled it out.
with a bit of trimming we were able to fit 33x12.5x15 on an 8 inch wide rim with 3.75 backspacing with minimal rubbing.

Thanks...and im assuming you have to get lca's and adjustable trac bar also?
O and you think i'd be able to stuff 32x11.5's under the 2" bb with 15.8's with 3.75" backspacing?

There are a ton of V8's sitting down at upullit plenty of vehicles to snag coils from...As far as spacers go 2" is as far as I would go and Todd keeps them in stock if you want to stay local.

we used the stock control arms for a while, but went with a set of RE adjustable lowers when we found a used set.

at first, we used a spacer on a stock set of v8 front coils up front to match the rear, but going with the full RE coils helped tremendously.

front track bar was stock with redrilled hole.

You can do it but you'll need a BFH as well as a cut off wheel.
