Default Windows Not working over head console not registering degrees

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0l 4x4

WINDOWS NOT GOING UP OR DOWN, driver door or any other door. EVIC console not displaying Temp or mileage, A/C not working.

Mirrors and Locks work on both Driver side door and Passenger side door. Radio works, instrument cluster no issues. All 4 window motors will work when I hook up a battery directly to them.

Can anyone out there point me in the right direction.

Thank you in advance,
Frank

Just wanted to give an update on my issue. After going over everything I just decided to go to scrap yard and pick up a BCM and sure enough that did the trick. My stock BCM had the last for digits of 06AI the one I grab from the scrap yard has 06AJ. After putting it in everything from A/C, EVIC (temp, miles) and all door windows work perfectly. Question for anyone out there that may be able to answer this question, with the last digit being different, will i experience any problems in the future? I have driven 50 plus miles and according to my cheap little OBDII scanner I have it now says it is ready for emissions test.

Thank you in advance,
Frank

When my BCM-related functions got wonky, the first thing I did was clean the connectors with electronics/connectors spray cleaner, let them air dry, reconnected all and then was well again. So, I'm curious about this.

Did you at-least cycle the original BCM connections once, unplug then plug-in again (wiping-away the old oxides from connector pins/receptacles), to diagnose the simple connection before doing BCM replacement? If you didn't then you really should restore your original BCM to prove it out and if it works normally again then you will not have that nagging doubt about what could go wrong because of that last digit "J".

Further, HOW freakin' likely in the WIDE-WIDE-WORLD of JEEP is it that you would randomly find the next sequential S/N of a BCM module from your own in a scrap yard!?!? This, Frank, my very lucky left-coast friend is TGTBT - I think you made it up! What are the odds? I hope you played and won some lottery on the same day.

Cherryokee, I actually did pull out the unit unscrewed the BCM, pulled it off (I did not spray with electronics/connectors spray cleaner), I plugged it back in and same issue. Thats when I went to the scrap yard and put in the 06AJ BCM and sure enough everything worked perfectly. And to answer your question about the Lottery, I did not play that day.

Had the exact same problem some time ago, did all the regular maintenance, cleaned the contacts etc. etc. One of the members here on the forum said to disconnect the ground cable from the battery and then reconnect it, it reset the BCM and everything worked fine afterwards. I’d have to go a ways back to find the post, but I’m grateful to the person who helped because it was a simple remedy that saved me $$$ and a headache.

Bearstream, Thank you for the reply. I tried that as well. Disconnected battery cables from battery and put positive and negative cables together. I believe the video you are referring to was with a gentleman that stated to have + & - cables together for about 10 minutes or so. I went through every thread the internet had provided. I just needed a solution with weather here in central california temps can get pretty hot. After trying everything thing from forums to web searches I just went for a hail mary and sure enough it worked for me. I am going to get some electrical/connector cleaner some time this week and try cherryokee's suggestion. Now that I am back in town Ill give that a try and see what happens.

You mentioned hot weather being a factor with the BCM problems, which was exactly the problem I had in my ‘03 WJ. I was driving through Las Vegas, NV, it was a balmy 109* and the BCM lost function. I had to stop and find shade, dropped the driver side window and drove home to So. Cal in the interstate breeze. Was able to correct the problem with the aforementioned battery disconnect, Hopefully your replacement BCM solves the issue…
