doing some custom wiring in my zj and have a question. in my hand is your basic up/down window switch, stolen from one of my extra rear doors. it has 5 pins, 3 down the one side, 2 down the other.

i need to know which three pins to use. i want to run a power wire to one of the pins, and connect my window motor directly to two of the others and have it function. i dont believe i need a ground but if im wrong please correct me.

i tried to figure out which ones to use on my own and zapped a few things lol. the factory wiring is GONE. this is custom we are dealing with.

 

Whats the switch out of, I have access to AllData

Typically, on any switch with 3, 6, or 9 posts (or any that are dividable by 3) The center post is the input. With the rocker/tab or what ever in the up position the lower post is hot. With the rocker in the down position the top post is hot. In this case its a double pole double throw, or DPDT.

I hear you. It's a ZJ dia.
In the first dia, in the center lower part, it shows the door switch with 3 wires out of the left side, and 2 wires out of the right going to the motor.

 

Do you have the power window wiring diagram grand cherokee 2012?
