whos good at installing stereos in here?
just had a simple question about installing them into the grands
first of all, in the last grand i had, a 98 ZJ, i put a brand new 450 dollar alpine head unit in that jeep, and i also had a factory 6-disc changer in the back...
i couldnt figure out how to hook the factoy changer into the new head unit, took it to a local profesional stereo installer, and they said there was no way at all, to hook the factory change to my after market head unit
well, now ive got an 04 WJ with the 10 disc factory changer in the back, and im thinking about putting an aftermarket head unit in this one, and my question was, is that guy i talked to full of crap by telling me you cant hook a factory changer to an after market head unit in any way what-so-ever, or, if i get a new head unit, should there be a way to hook that changer into it..
and i know there are head units out there that some are capable of hooking atleast an after market changer, to, and there are some that are not able to work any kind of change, but that alpine i had, did have the controls for a cd changer, had one been installed
again, just checking that if i buy a new head unit, if i will be saying bye bye to my factory changer

I'm not into stereo hook-up, but there's a ton of info and options there.
