Default What is the water forge depth in my GC

I have a 1994 jeep GC Limited and i was wanting to know what is the water forgeing depth for the truck it is bone stock? thanks

open your hood and find the lowest point on the airfilter assembly. That is your maximum depth to prevent water from sucking into the intake and causing hydro lock of the engine. Might be a little deeper due to wake effect if you are pushing the water but anything above the bottom of your air intake system could be dangerous.

that will prevent engine damage. The transmission has a vent hole on top of it that will let water in, the transfer case and diffs do as well but they usually have tubing that raises those up higher. Front dif and TC are usually vented to a location close to the brake master cylinder or into the air intake system. rear dif is usually up around the gas cap area. You can put a vent tube on the tranny but you have to drop the tranny and tap the hole for a fitting.

Anytime you forge water that is above your axle center line you might as well figure on changing all the fluids out when you are done just to be safe.

I would say stay out of water higher than the center of your wheels. A mistake in water can get expensive real quick.
