what is normal coolant loss?
How often is coolant added? My coolant recovery tank has dropped about 1/2 inch in 8 months. I am paranoid of a cracked head 4.0, so I check daily and it stays pretty consistent then once in awhile I notice a slight drop. I have noticed that sometimes the overflow from the recovery tank is dripping. Is it possible that water is splashing out the overflow on bumpy roads?

I had the same issue with my 95 ZJ. I found the coolant recovery tank was cracked, I replaced it with a brand new one I found on the web for 26 bucks shipped, problem solved.
