Default What do the "1", "2", "Set" keypad buttons on driver's door do?

I don't have a manual and haven't found a free one yet. Could someone let me know what these buttons do and how to make use of them?

I am assuming / hoping it has to do with setting and disabling the alarm.

I don't have a fob (was missing when I bought the car). I only have a key. I am so broke from paying to repair all of the things that have gone wrong since I bought the Jeep, that I can't yet afford the fob

Starting last week, when I unlock the driver's door with the key (it is the only door with a key/lock cylinder), the alarm goes off every other time that I open the door. I'm hoping there is a way to disable to alarm using that key pad on the door.

Thanks in advance for any help!

And to use them, adjust the seat, press and hold the set button till it starts to blink, then press 1 or 2 and the position is saved.

Good to know, thanks!

BTW...I did try Googling and searching before I posted this simple issue, but the search for "1 2 set grand cherokee" (and other variations) brought every result but the one I needed
