What 4.7 engines will in a 2002 Grand Cherokee Laredo?
Hi,I"am new to this forum, but I really need to know if a Dodge Durango or any other 4.7 engine will work in my son's 2002 Grand Cherokee Laredo, his is a Vin"N" with a rod knocking,we have an offer from a guy with a 4.7 out of a Durango in which he said it would work, but I thought it would be best to ask the you guys on here first, after all if anybody knows Jeep it has to be you guys and thats why I started here.I don't want him to pay for an engine, then find out later that it won't work.I really appeciate any response, thank you".

There is a difference between the the 2002 and 2003 and later 4.7 engines, it has to do with the tonering for the cam shaft position sensor. Put the wrong tonering on and you will be chasing your tail trying to figure out why the engine runs so bad.
