valve cover

if i open the valve cover does the gasket need to be replaced or will it reseal?

If you're going to take off the vavle cover, it's a good plan to clean everything up and reseal it back up. No chance of leaks. Permatex it.

Engine: 4.0 with all of the noise and clatter

The cork gasket is only six bucks for the 4.0. If you already have the cover off, you may as well replace the gasket.
