When i parked up the other day i had smoke coming from something that is run off the back of the power steering pu mp. The smoke may have been caused by diesel dripping from from the overflow pipe. Can someone let me know what the device is pleasr?

Sorry, i thought i had listed some of them! 1999 grand cherokee 2.5lt diesel turbo with manual transmision. The smoke was the first symptom coming from rear right hand side and was smelling of diesel. Now when i crank her over there is a squeeling noise and she will not start. Thanks.
