Default Tried everyting jeep wont start now

Ok, Ive been battling my jeep not starting, or stalling/shutting off etc.

Ive replaced many things, crank sensor, IAC, Ignition coil, cleaned rotor, and even did the "back out the 2 screws on computer" deal.

Each time it will act fine after doing something new, but still shuts off intermittently and sometimes a real pain in the *** to get started.

I checked the grounds last nights behind the battery on the fender wall, wiggled all the PCM plugs around with the jeep running, trying to see if it would shut off, or something stupid. I cannot "MAKE" the truck shut off, its just random, my wife for the first this morning had to get a ride to work from her mother since it simply would not start at all.

The truck has a bran new rebuilt transmission in it and transfer case, and the motor, though it has 210k on it, still runs strong as hell when its running. I cannot justify getting rid of this truck right now.

Can Anyone with any insight, please help out? Thank you.

Kyle

There's also a ground for the PCM located on the engine block. It's on the right side just behind the oil dipstick tube. There's a small stud that usually has a clamp holding the wiring harness and behind the clamp is the ring terminal for the ground.

Thank you for that, i will be sure to check that as soon as i get home. Its been crazy, ive trying one thing a night for a long while now as its intermittent, so she has to drive it for a day before we know anything.

Ill give that a look, i appreciate it sir, thank you.

It may be listed as the pick up coil, it's under the distibutor cap and very simple to replace.

Well, I tried one more thing tonight, something i hadnt tried yet, i wasnt aware there was a "coil pickup"

So i decided i go pick one up and change it out.

Here is what the old one looked like. Not pretty

Swapped it out and the jeep fired right up. Instantly.

Ill be sure to check back and let you all know how it goes in a day or so.

Double check the pick up coil and see if there is any rust or metal sticking to the magnet.

Its clean, just checked it.

What does the vacuum line under the battery do?

Anyhow, i got it running finally, but ive always been able to after messing with it for awhile.

This is going to be the death of me. Im ready to burn this thing down. Ive never been more frustrated in my life.

I tried to swap the TPS but i ended up stripping the rediculous torx screws, and they are too small for and easy out i think, so im trying to source a TB for the moment so i can atleast eliminate the TPS.

I had to borrow a friggin car for my wife to drive since she is supposed to start a new job today.

ARG!

That vacuum hose under the battery goes to the vacuum reservoir for the cruise control and HVAC, without it the A/C vents would start blowing out of the defrost when going up hills and accellerating, and the cruise would not hold a steady speed. Is the check engine light on when the engine is running? In most cases the TPS would cause the light to come on if there were a problem with it.

No check engine light is on, when it was on, it was intermitent signal from CPS/CMS whatever.

Im at my wits end. Every single sensor has been changed on this car.

Throwing parts at a problem is a really expensive and random way to go about things.
You need 3 things for the engine to function - air, fuel and spark. Have you determined which is not present during the no start condition?
