Default Transfer 98 Cherokee 4x4 to a 99 Cherokee

Hello, I am wanting to find out if I can take the complete 4x4 out of a 1998 Grand Cherokee and put it into a 1999 Grand Cherokee. I have the two jeeps sitting side by side. Will every thing fit the 99 and bolt in or will things have to be modified?

Thanks for your help,
Sam

I really do thank you guys for the info. I wasnt sure what all it would take to take the 98 cherokee 4x4 and put it into the 99 cherokee. Right now the 99 model is a 2x4 and I have the wrecked 98 just sitting there and I hate to waiste all the great 4x4 running gear. The 98 runs great its just totaled by my daughter. I have worked on cars and even swapped the 99 engine out for an 03 with less miles but never tried to change the entire running gear before. It every thing will bolt up I will give it a shot if there will need to be major changes or mods to be made I will part the 98 model out I guess. If any one knows for sure if the 98 4x4 stuff will bolt right into the 99 please let me kow.

thanks again fellows...

Sam
