Unhappy Tranny shifting, usually

I recently got a 98 Grand Cherokee, 5.9 Limited. Pretty much all stock atm. It shifts fine when I drive it, even if I push the pedal down about half way, feels like OD kicks in, and it will still shift fine. However, if I hit it wide open, it seems as if it hits a rev limiter? Best guess would be about 3k-3500 but I could be wrong, if anything it wasnt much higher than that. It just rev's, drops a sec rev's etc and wont shift till I back off the gas a hair. Not completely, just a lil. Its got 130k on it, assuming orig trans not 100% sure. But like I said, it dosent seem to ever shift hard or hesitate shifting up/down. Thanks for the help!

Anything? It only seems to happen if I hit it wide open between 2nd-3rd. The second I let off the gas the slightest hair - it will shift.

Try adjusting the throttle pressure cable (aka the kick down cable), do a search for the instructions on how to do it.

Awesome, somewhere to start Will tinker tomorrow or the next day and post back. Thanks!

*Oh 1 more thing, can pulling the battery cable to reset the CPU's have any negative effect? Ive read it can fix numerous things, never heard of any bad side effects. Just wanted a 2nd opinion, thanks again.
