This is my first post although I spend a lot of time on this great forum.

I've owned my 93 Grand Cherokee Laredo since early 95. When I bought the jeep it had a class three hitch, trailer receptical and wiring. A year or so ago the tail lights stopped working and I traced it to a small U haul labeled box that was spliced between the factory wiring and trailer receptical. I removed the box to gets the tail lights working again.

I have been looking for three days to find a wiring kit so we can pull our pop up trailer with the Jeep over the 4th. No one has a kit. Does the 93 require a special trailer harness? Someone told me years ago that you can't just splice into the factory harness for trailer lighting. Is this true?
