Default Tail Light/Brake Light Problem

Hello, I have a 2002 Grand Cherokee Laredo V8. I'm having a problem where the tail lights sometimes work and sometimes do not work, same with the brake lights, some times they work and sometimes they don't. This affects both tail lights and the trunk light, and both brakes. I have changed the bulbs and sockets a few times and whenever I do, they are burnt out. In the passed two years the sockets have been changed twice. Anyone know how to go about correcting this??

Check the grounds.

Agree with checking the grounds, the ground is actually a tab in the socket that can basically push down to far and you have to rebend it back up (be careful as it can break). On a side note my sister has a 2001 X5 and had the same issue. We re-saudered her ground to re-route it (BMW has the crappiest designed tail lights) which fixed the problem.

Might just be a fuse. I had that problem with my work van and once I changed it, it was fine.
