Default so i have a few questions... help me lol

i bought a 1996 cherokee yesterday for 500 bucks. its well maintained but has 320,000 miles on it. its got 33" tires and a 4.5 inch lift. the only issues with it is the wheel bearings are going and the exhaust hanger is broken so it rattles. does anyone know what is involved in fixing these two things and how much it would cost?

Also, how can i tell what kind of lift is on the car and what trim level the jeep is?

All I have to say is wow... $500

The rattle can be fixed with a welder and should cost next to nothing...

As for the other things, I really have no idea...

And welcome to the forums

thanks for the help! im hoping i can get it running to my dads liking without spending really any money at all. he really hates the car and thinks its a death trap. like i said tho he hears the exhaust rattle and feels the tires jiggling and he has no idea what it is he just assumes its a peice of crap. idk im hoping to fix it up asap for as little as possible or he is making me get rid of it he totally thinks i wasted 500 bucks.

oh and i am still on his insurance so he wont register the car or put it under his insurance...im hoping i can pursuade him otherwise or else i will have to sell it which i DO NOT want to do.

So are you planning to return your Jeep to stock?

Heck, if I bought it for $500 I would keep the goodies. Its a great deal and you couldnt buy all that stuff for what you will get for it...

As for the tires jiggling, you may need a new steering stabilizer or the tires may need rotated...

And just tell your dad that the 4.0 is known to run a long time (350,000+ or so). But Im sure whatever he decides will be best...It may also be a good idea to change all the fluids... Good luck
