RC said they would offer a discount to forum members if they posted after the install. So here goes...
Mods, please delete/move/etc. as you see fit.
Installed the Rough Country 2" lift on Friday night and Saturday a.m.
Overall, the install didn't go too badly. Once I figured out I had to detach the UCL and swing away the spindle, it was fairly straight-forward. Some of the videos I watched didn't have a forked lower strut attachment, so removal was easier for them. Air tools would have been awesome.
Tips:
- Use/borrow air tools if you got em. Like always, they could have saved a bunch of time.
- The UCL needs to be swung up and knuckle/spindle maneuvered away on the front to get the strut out.
- UCL also had to be detached to get the driver's side rear spring out.
Bone stock 08 WK with 255/75s. Little rubbing at full lock; but no pinch weld problems:
After Rough Country 2" Lift. Same ride, little more apparent rubbing on full lock; but just need to trim wheel well.
Be prepared for the Rough Country shaming you will get from other members on this forum. Just because you didn't over pay for a lift kit means it's junk, or somebody's uncle knew a guy that had a cousin that had a second hand RC lift and the bushings worn out too fast so all of RC products are junk. I have a RC lift and I love it.
Haha, yeah, I'm a newbie here; but frequent other outdoor/hunting/shooting forums frequently....so familiar with online haters...Just got it for a bit more clearance and stance. 95% commuter, 5% hunter....
