Rough bouncy idle - sputtering and popping acceleration
First time on a forum, Not even sure if i'm in the right area.
2000 JGC Laredo I6 4X4 132K
- Start up, whole car bounces and tail pipe makes a pop pop pop like a 5.0 or muscle car.
put it in drive and lightly let off break my body and arm on steering wheel shake and bounce bad.
- Acceleration, Sputters and hesitates to go any faster but gradually goes.
If I slam to the floor board it shakes and hesitates then wont shift till around
5200 rmp, a really noticeable shift. Fluids are at a perfect level on stick.
- Coasting at any speed, if I give it a little gas I can feel popping from the floor board and hear it like someone popping a plastic bag. about 2-3 sec apart in variation not a constant stream of popping. If I let off from acceleration runs smooth no popping no nothing. only when acceleration is applied.
thanks for any input, Steve

I would start with a good tune up. Plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. Sounds like it's not getting fire to ignite fuel/air mixture.

Found the problem. It was something so small, one could overlook so easily .
one of my spark plugs' ceramics had a crack around the rod. the plug was arching to the block. Thank you for your reply
