Recently changed my transmission fluid and filter. I've added much more fluid that I've read is normally needed, but it still is barely registering on the dipstick. I also don't know the ZJ's first 20 years of history, and the dipstick never really seemed to sit right on the tube.

The number on the dipstick is 52118641 and the thin metal band is about 29.5 inches long. My parts list says the part number should be 52117710.

 

my 98 zj dipstick doesnt sit well in the tube either and it looks to be the same
