With the relay in place I was getting a 4 amp drain. If I left it in and pulled fuse #8, it would start ticking. Relay K controls the door lock switch sensor and illuminated entry relay control. Here's the thing, the lights come on when I open the doors. My doors will unlock, but not lock. I read in the factory service manual that the anti-theft system not allowing the doors to lock if there's a malfunction. What in the world can cause a 4amp drain? I have not had any alarm functions happen since I've owned it. Perhaps someone disabled the control module in the dash, instead of splicing and grounding the purple/yellow wire at the kick panel? Would any of the alarm relays under the glovebox cause this? How can I test the alarm, I dont have keyless entry remote.
With the K relay, located in the back right under the glovebox removed I am getting a .07 drain now.

I also had problems with the rear cargo light staying on with fuse #8 removed. I manually locked and unlocked the hatch and it solved that problem. The cargo light will NOT work by its self....only when all the interior lights are on. Switch problem? Ground problem?

The bad news is that the relay has been tested by the smartest guy I know....genius dude. He is too busy to help other than that. Its below his pay grade. I have checked all fuses too. I have heard of other people replacing the K relay and the problem persisted.

Updated again...with the K relay removed, my doors now lock and the interior lights come on upon entry.... GOD I MISS MY XJ!
This is a 95 ZJ Laredo with the 4.0 and only 88,000 miles.....The seats even work and look good. All was great until I kept not being able to start it....4 Amp drain.... Uhg....please help me out. Thanks again....
