1999 Grand Cherokee Ltd straight 6cylinder Auto .A 100 miles from home and the noise from the back axle was shattering.
At enormous cost its back home and we could do with driving it 2 miles to get it to a friendly mechanic. It does drive as is but we would soon get picked up by the law and noise abatement society.
Can we disconnect the props to the rear and creep along with only the front wheel driving ?
Its done 170k plus but engine and gearbox are great.We are hoping we can salvage it!

You can disconeect the rear driveshaft that goes to the rearend. And drive the car in 4wheel. I did that to get my zj home that had a blown rear about 20 miles.

 

whats the output on your TC? if its a slip yoke, it will dump all the oil if u take the prop off & drive it.....so not a good plan!
