Default Radio fuse keeps blowing

My 2003 Grand Cherokee wouldn't start so I cleaned the battery terminals and it started rite up. Unfortunately now my radio dosent work. It always worked before. Every time I put a new fuse in it blows. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have any ideas of what might have happened while I was cleaning the battery. Someone help please. Thank you.

well for starters I would pull the radio and unplug the power wire. then put a fuse in and if that works then plug it back in the radio. If it burns it, then you pretty much know the radio is the problem.

Thank you for the advice. I will try that tomorrow. So do you think disconnecting the battery did something? No problems until I cleaned the battery. Has anyone had this happen to them? Thanks for the help.

Radios tosday are on the battery all the time - even when off - all to maintain the clock and memory circuits. If you were not careful in disconnecting and reconnecting the battery terminals (in other words, if the wires 'sparked' when connecting) it could have taken out a radio. Anytime a battery must be disconnected, it should be done with a quick motion - negative first, then positive leads.

The above advise is a god way to determine if the radio is the true cause....
