I have an 04 Grand Cherokee Special Edition 4.0L
Radiator cooling fan motor went out. Old one is 3 pin and all of the replacement motors I found are 2 pin.
After searching several site I found that in order to get the proper 3 pin motor I had to spend a bit more money by purchasing a new shroud / motor assembly. If you get just the motor for your radiator it's an easy install.
Lower bolts are a bit of a pain (4 bolts 10mm)but once out its easy to remove the shroud,just get around the radiator hoses. It's not necessary to remove the radiator hoses however doing so would make it a little easier and draining the radiator will let you get a look at the condition of the fluid and to see if there is any debris. If so you know to service it since you are already there.
