so one of my family members has a hitch for a 1997 jeep cherokee and they dont use it anyomre and wanted to know if i wanted it..my question is will it fit on my 97 grand cherokee..the problem is they live in jersy and im not going to get it unless it will fit hopefully it does and i can con them into ups

 

i am almost positive it won't. the two vehicles are built on completely different platforms. as they say u can make anything fit to anything but it will not bolt up.

No. The frame rails are a little different but the main problem is you would have to loose the rear bumper and chop some of the rear crossmember because the XJ hitch sits about 5" higher.
