Default power steering whining

97 grand cherokee 4.0 auto. I had to change the alternator over the weekend and since doing so the power steering has started whining. I was wondering if maybe there was something i could have done when removing or putting the belt back on that could have caused this. I did loosen the 2 top bolts on top of the pump at first but then realized i didn't have to to remove the belt.

The belt might be too tight.
