My power steering pump is leaking...nice big puddle under my zj yesterday. It's a 98, 6 cyl. I don't know anything about the power steering pump. Is it best to just change the pump out or is it possible there's some sort of connecting hose that's leaking? The pulley is also making a pretty good noise. Is that just from getting sprayed with fluid or is it best to just change that right away too?

Yes, it could be a leaking hose.


Try having someone turn the wheel a bit while you examine the hoses, try to find the leak.

However if its out of fluid the pump itself may be bad now, so check fluid level first.
