Default power brake booster

anyone know anything about these boosters?mine has a vaccume leak and im wondering if they can be rebuilt by the shade tree or not?

mine leaks in the cab of the jeep where the piston rod comes into the truck you know the rod hooks to your break pedal, another thing can that be robbing my vaccume from the moter? thanks for the help...

i'd replace the whole thing.
i bought one from a wrecker for 20 bux. come out of a 2000 xj.

it's easy to change, took me less than an hour and that included drilling out the pedal hole and grinding off the rod for the brake light switch. but you won't need to do that.

cheers.

Yeah, that can be your source of a vacuum leak. Don't even think of rebuilding it, get another one and swap it out.

Yes that vacuum leak can throw off the signal to the map sensor which affects the way your engine performs, among other things.
