Part Compatibility ('95 to '98)
Alright, I have a '95 Gand Cherokee Larado that chews through oil and water like there's a hole in the block. I'm looking to get a different Jeep and I found one (1998 Grand Cherokee) with a blown transmission, bad alternator, non-working driver's side windows (I don't know if that's the switches or motors, assume it's both), and vacuum leak. Since my current Jeep has non of these issues, I'm trying to figure out if all of the parts will be "transplant-able", or if I need to buy some things new. I know these Jeeps are both from the same generation, but I'd rather not dump a grand into something if I just have to dump more into it.
Thanks for any help you can give me!

The on board diagnostics have nothing to do with the transmission and they didn't change the transmission as much as the controller (TCM). I could be wrong, but I think they'll work as long as you maintain whichever OBD the engine and body are.
