oil pressure questions...
i know from reading this forum that oil pumps do not create pressure. my oil pressure gauge on my dash was acting up, traced is to the sender (oil was bubbling through the top of the sender) . the dude i bought it from swapped a dodge truck engine (5.2) into the jeep (which also had a 5.2) the harness has blade plugs on the plug but the sender has pins... so he spliced in butt connectors to make the connection. now i know i have good pressure because i ran a mechanical gauge on it for a few days while waiting for cash to get the sender (on a budget)... i had 50 at start up, after warm up i idled at around 20-25 and it would rise appropriately with rpm's. i installed the new sender today and the pressure rises to 50 at start up on the dash gauge, but does not drop after warmed up...? it just hovers at 45-50... is this a convenience thing set up so the gauge don't float while driving? or do i need to make it back to jeep sender and jeep plug... to much information? what say you?...

A Mopar sensor will probably work better for you, but if you can live with the way the gauge reads now it's not a big deal.
