Default No fuel to start

99 grand cherokee limited sport 4.7. I jumped the fuel pump at the relay, hear it running, but still no fuel. Splashed gas in the intake horn and it runs until gone. Searched forum for 3 days now and can't find anything related. Any ideas?

Zero fuel is coming out of the valve on the fuel rail, even though you hear the fuel pump running constant and normal when you keep it bypassed?

It sounds like something is clogged somewhere downstream, or maybe a faulty fuel pump not feeding any fuel and just making noise? Is that possible?

Yep, it's possible.

Dunno the fuel line setup on those, but if you can disconnect back by the tank and see if it puts anything out at that point.

Thanks,
Zero fuel to the rail. Checking for kinks and clogs. Then dropping the tank next.

It's the fuel pump, dropped the tank and it runs but don't pump.

It is great you figured out the reason. I was going to say earlier the approach you mentioned sounds like a good plan.

Thank you for telling what you found out about the fuel pump doing that, like that.. to not be working.

Yeah, that thing is a big nasty headache to change. All it takes is one good spark and POOF! That's why I like to use additives to help keep the fuel pump lubricated. I don't trust what they add to the gas, especially now that everything has ethanol.
