Newbie trying to figure some things out please help
Hello all just traded my 97 integra for a 97 Grand Cherokee Limited with V8 188k, Im sure im not going to have Honda reliability, out the gate the tranny slips in reverse and first to second when its cold then runs fine the rest of the day, I checked tranny fluid its full and looks fresh, also the radio does what ever it wants, the front wanders a little around 30 to 50 mph, other than that seems good. I have $2000 to put into this thing to make it a good daily driver any things I should check for and do right from the start. Im gonna keep reading the forums and try to learn everything I can. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like the tranny has hard seals, they soften up when the tranny gets some heat in it. You can try and do a fluid change and add some tranny seal softener, it may get you down the road for a while more.
