I just bought a 97 Jeep Country edition 4x4, 4.0 6 cyl. When you hit the accelerator pedal it revs up before finally going. Once the jeep gets going it shifts fine...i was told it may be a MAP sensor...is this true? Could it be the kickdown cable? thanks for any help

one last thing...i dont think its the tranny solenoids or governor solenoids because of the smooth shifting, both up and down. Just takes a minute for the jeep to start rolling after i hit the gas...

It's not the MAP sensor, check the transmission fluid level.

Sounds like low fluid or low trans pressure. What does the fluid look like color, smell, level etc.. Or if its idle is real low that could cause it too.
