Past couple of days I had been smelling an unusual oder coming from under the hood then I noticed the battery gauge in my Jeep shooting over 14 volts. Well I had the old alternator tested today and turns out a regulator in the alternator went bad. So I replaced the alternator and my Jeep is still reading just over 14 volts. Battery is fine though. Is there something I missed that the book isn't telling me?

Ya I reread my manual and the voltage it's reading now is what it's supposed to read, and if the PCM would have been shot it more then likely would have set off the Check Engine light too.

Also how are you reading battery voltage, meter or guage? If guage I would use a good meter, the guages are not known for super accuracy. My volt guage reads a little over 9 with key on and little over 12 running and with a meter it was 12.5 and 14.4.
